Die neue Bücherei in Gundelsheim entstand mit dem Umbau und der Erweiterung eines historischen Bauernhauses aus dem 19. Jahrhundert. Typisch für die Baukultur der oberfränkischen Region wurde das Gebäude in Holzbauweise konzipiert. Die hochgiebelige Form passt sich nahtlos der bestehenden Strukturen an und stellt ein geglücktes Beispiel ländlicher Innenentwicklung dar. Im einstigen Stall befindet sich jetzt ein Lesesaal, der Dachboden wurde zur Galerie ausgebaut und schafft einen Rückzugsort für die Jugendbücherei. Die Kinderabteilung ist in Form eines kleinen Hauses untergebracht. Die Bauzeit betrug etwa 4 Jahre.
The new library in Gundelsheim was created within a conversion and extension of a historic farmhouse from the 19th century. Typical for the building culture of Upper Franconia, the building was designed in timber construction. The form fits seamlessly into the existing structures and represents a successful example of rural inner development. The former barn now houses a reading room, the attic was converted into a gallery and creates a retreat for the youth library. The children's section is housed in the form of a small house. The construction time was about 4 years.
