Der Neubau der Bibliothek "Médiathèque du Sud Sauvage" in Saint-Joseph auf der Insel Réunion umfasst eine Grundfläche von 2 500m². Gebaut wurde - in Anlehnung an den einheimischen Baustil - mit Basalt und Holz. Aufgrund Réunions feutchtwarmem Klima wurde dabei besonderen Wert auf passive Kühlung, Durchlüftung, Isolation und Sonnenschutz gelegt. Dafür wurde der Bau 2018 mit dem "Green Solutions Award - Energy & Hot Climate" ausgezeichnet. Die Baukosten betrugen etwa 6 Mio. Euro.
The new library building "Médiathèque du Sud Sauvage" in Saint-Joseph on the island of Réunion covers an area of 2 500m². It was built with basalt and wood, in keeping with the local architectural style. Due to Réunion's fiercely warm climate, special emphasis was placed on passive cooling, ventilation, insulation and solar protection. For this, the building was awarded the "Green Solutions Award - Energy & Hot Climate" in 2018. The construction costs amounted to around 6 million euros.
