Der Neubau der Stadtbibliothek fügt sich neben den historischen Gebäuden in die Altstadtstruktur und besitzt großzügige Verglasungen im Erdgeschoss. Die großen Schaufenster erlauben schon von außen Einblicke in das Lesecafé und die Kinderbibliothek. Im Innern entstand ein lichtdurchfluteter, offener Raum für den Stadtbibliotheksbetrieb, sowie für Bildung, Vorträge und Kommunikation. 850 m² Nutzfläche verteilen sich auf drei Geschosse und sind barrierefrei erreichbar. Die verschiedenen Nutzungsbereiche sind höhenversetzt auf fünf Ebenen angeordnet und halten die über 25 000 Medien der Bibliothek. Im Zentrum befindet sich ein Veranstaltungsort, ruhigere Rückzugsorte im Dachgeschoss und eine Leseterrasse auf dem südlichen Annex.

The new building of the municipal library fits into the old town structure next to the historic buildings and has generous glazing on the first floor. The large shop windows allow views of the reading café and the children's library from the outside. Inside, a light-flooded, open space was created for the city library operations, as well as for education, lectures and communication. 850 m² of usable space is spread over three floors and is accessible without barriers. The various usage areas are arranged at different heights on five levels and hold the library's more than 25,000 media. There is an event venue in the center, quieter retreats in the attic and a reading terrace on the southern annex.
