Nach dem Totalumbau des Gebäudes aus dem Jahr 1978 verfügt die Universitätsbibliothek seit 2015 über mehr als 1 250 Arbeitsplätze auf 30 600m² Nutzfläche. Während sich 230 000 Bände in den Obergeschossen befinden, kann das Tiefmagazin in den Untergeschossen zusätzlich 3,5 Mio. Bände aufnehmen. Darüber hinaus verfügt der auffällige Solitärbau über zusätzliche Gruppenarbeits- und Seminarräume, ein Café, sowie Ausstellungs- und Veranstaltungsräume. Außerdem befinden sich im dritten Obergeschoss zwei Radio- und ein Fernsehstudio und das fünfte Obergeschoss ist für die Beschäftigten als moderne Bürolandschaft ausgebaut. Die Baukosten betrugen 53 Mio. Euro.
After the total reconstruction of the building from 1978, the university library has now more than 1 250 workstations on 30 600m² of floor space since 2015. While 230 000 volumes are located on the upper floors, the underground stacks in the basement can hold an additional 3.5 million volumes. Furthermore, the eye-catching solitary building has additional group work and seminar rooms, a café, as well as exhibition and event rooms. In addition, two radio and one television studio are located on the third floor and the fifth floor is designed as a modern office landscape for the employees. The construction costs amounted to 53 million euros.
