Die Bibliothek im Haus der Musik Innsbruck ist eine Serviceeinrichtung innerhalb eines neuen Bildungs- und Veranstaltungszentrums für Musik und Theater. In einer Kooperation zwischen der Universität Innsbruck, der Universität Mozarteum Salzburg und dem Tiroler Landeskonservatorium wurde hier ein neues Kompetenzzentrum für musikwissenschaftliche und musikpädagogische Literatur geschaffen. Organisatorisch ist es als Spezialbibliothek an der Universitäts- und Landesbibliothek Tirol in Innsbruck angesiedelt. Es sollte ein Ort geschaffen werden, der sowohl öffentlich nutzbar und repräsentativ, aber gleichzeitig auch für das ruhige Studium und das kontemplative Musikhören geeignet ist. Verschiedene Anforderungen an die Zugänglichkeit der Bestände erforderten eine Aufteilung in einen kleinen Freihandbereich mit ca. 600 Laufmetern und ein Magazinbereich mit ca. 1 800 Laufmetern Buchbestand. Innerhalb der Bibliothek wurden 24 Arbeitsplätze, Leseinseln, ein Buchscanner und ein Medienstudio eingerichtet.
The library at Haus der Musik Innsbruck is a service facility within a new education and event centre for music and theatre. In a cooperation between the University of Innsbruck, the Mozarteum University Salzburg and the Tyrolean State Conservatory, a new competence centre for musicological and music pedagogical literature was created here. Organisationally, it is located as a special library at the University and Provincial Library of Tyrol in Innsbruck. The aim was to create a place that is both publicly usable and representative, but at the same time suitable for quiet study and contemplative music listening. Various requirements for the accessibility of the holdings necessitated a division into a small open access area with approx. 600 linear metres and a stacks area with approx. 1 800 linear metres of book holdings. Within the library, 24 workstations, reading islands, a book scanner and a media studio were set up.
