Die Stadtbibliothek Lichtenrade ist 2021 vom Standort Briesingstr. in die Alte Mälzerei umgezogen und hat gleichzeitig ihre Fläche vergrößert. Nach dem neuen Gebäudekonzept entstanden Räumen für die Stadtteilbibliothek, Volkshochschule, Musikschule sowie für ein Kinder- und Jugendmuseum. Die Edith-Stein-Bibliothek bildet die Grundlage des Projekts und bietet multimediale sowie pädagogische Angebote für Schulklassen und Kitagruppen. Darüber hinaus verfügt sie über Räumlichkeiten, die durch den Einbau von Podesttreppen ein breites Spektrum an Nutzungsmöglichkeiten abdecken können. Das Erdgeschoss und 1. Obergeschoss werden durch einen Luftraum verbunden und bieten optimale Nutzflächen für eine zukunftsorientierte Bibliothek.
In 2021, the Lichtenrade City
Library moved from the Briesingstr. to the old malt house and at the same time
increased its area. According to the new building concept, rooms were
created for the district library, adult education center, music school and a
children's and youth museum. The Edith Stein library forms the basis of the
project and offers multimedia and pedagogical offers for school classes and
daycare groups. In addition, it has rooms that can cover a wide range of
possible uses through the installation of platform stairs. The ground floor and
first floor are connected by an air space and offer optimal usable space for a
future-oriented library.
