Im neuen Informationszentrum der Technischen Hochschule Nürnberg ist die zentrale Bibliothek mit einem Bestand von ca. 200.000 Medieneinheiten, das Rechenzentrum und eine Tiefgarage untergebracht. Das städtebauliche Konzept beruht auf der Idee eines Zentralen Campus. Zusammen mit den Bestandsgebäuden bildet der zweiteilige Hochbau eine neue Campusmitte mit hoher Aufenthaltsqualität. Der Haupteingang des Informationszentrums ist zum Platz hin orientiert, ein gemeinsames Foyer verbindet Bibliothek und Rechenzentrum. Auf und mit einer Fläche von 4100 m², verteilt auf 5 Stockwerke, stehen den Studierenden 400 Arbeitsplätze zur Verfügung. Des Weiteren werden Einzel- oder Gruppenräume zur Reservierung angeboten. Im Rechenzentrum gibt es auf einer Fläche von 1800 m² diverse Schulungsräume und Computerlabore. In den zwei oberen Stockwerken sind Büros untergebracht. Die Baukosten der neu ausgestatteten Bibliothek und Rechenzentrum betrugen knapp 42 Millionen Euro. Die Eröffnung fand am 2. Oktober 2020 statt.
The new information centre of Nuremberg University of Applied Sciences houses the central library with a stock of approx. 200,000 volumes (books, journal volumes, CD/DVD-ROM etc.), the computer centre and a new underground car park. The urban development concept is based on the idea of a central campus. Together with the existing buildings, the two-part building forms a new campus centre with a high quality of stay. The main entrance of the information centre is oriented towards the square. A common foyer connects the library and the computer centre. Spread over 5 floors and an area of 4100 m², 400 workstations are available to students for reading and learning. Furthermore, individual or group rooms are available for reservation. In the four-storey computer centre beside it, there are various seminar rooms and computer labs on an area of 1800 m². The staff offices are located on the two upper floors. The construction costs of the newly equipped library and computer centre amounted to almost 42 million euros. The opening took place on 2 October 2020.
