Durch die Umwandlung eines alten Fabrikgebäudes entstand in der norditalienischen Stadt La Spezia ein neues urbanes Zentrum für sozialen Austausch, Bildung und Unterhaltung. Dabei sollte die neue Begegnungsstätte auf Wunsch der örtlichen Behörden anregend und funktional eingerichtet sein. Das Programm umfasst neben stilvoll eingerichteten Lounge- und Aufenthaltsbereichen auch die Stadtbibliothek mit diversen Arbeits- und Leseplätzen, sowie ein kleines Auditorium für Veranstaltungen, Büros und zusätzliche Archiv- und Beratungsräume. Die Kosten für den Umbau betrugen etwa 2.5 Millionen Euro.
The conversation of an old factory building created a new urban 'center' for social exchange, education and entertainment in the northern Italian city of La Spezia. The new meeting place was to be stimulating and functionally furnished at the request of the local authorities. The program includes stylishly furnished lounge and recreation areas, a municipal library with various work and reading spaces, as well as a small auditorium for events, offices and additional archive and consultation rooms. The cost of the conversion was around 2.5 million euros.
