Der wohl bemerkenswerteste Raum der neuen Zentralbibliothek Neude ist die Empfangshalle, die auch für lange Zeit der einzige Ort war, der für die Öffentlichkeit zugänglich war. Seit 1924 war in diesem monumentalem Gebäude das Hauptpostamt untergebracht. Heute dient die Eingangshalle als gemeinsames Foyer für Post und Bibliothek und ein Großteil der bisher verborgenen Räume wurde der Öffentlichkeit zugänglich gemacht. Die rund 9.000 Quadratmeter große Bibliothek verfügt über ein Theater, ein Kino, ein Restaurant mit Bar und ein Bibliothekscafé. Darüberhinaus laden 356 Studier- und Arbeitsplätze zum stillen Arbeiten und Lesen ein. Die Eröffnung fand am 11. Mai 2020 statt.
Probably the most remarkable room of the new Neude Central Library is the reception hall, which was also the only place open to the public for a long time. Since 1924, this monumental building had housed the main post office. Today, the entrance hall serves as a joint foyer for the post office and the library. Also a large part of the previously hidden rooms have been made accessible to the public now. The library, which covers an area of around 9,000 square metres, has a theatre, a cinema, a restaurant with bar and a library café. In addition, 356 study and work stations invite visitors to quietly work and read. The opening took place on 11 May 2020.
