Am Standort Luminy im Naturpark der Calanques nutzte die Universität Aix-Marseille ein leerstehendes Campusrestaurant aus den 60er Jahren, um dort eine Bibliothek und ein modernes Zentrum zum Lernen und zum Austausch für Studierende unterzubringen. Ein offenes Atrium und weiße Fassadenelemente aus Aluminium verleihen dem ehemals starren sechseckigen Betonbaukörper Schwung, Leichtigkeit und Transparenz. Insgesamt umfasst "das Hexagon" 7 800m² Nutzfläche.
At the location of Luminy in the Calanques nature park, the University of Aix-Marseille used a vacant campus restaurant from the 1960s to house a library and a modern centre for learning and exchange for students. An open atrium and white aluminium facade elements give the formerly rigid hexagonal concrete structure verve, lightness and transparency. In total, "the hexagon" comprises 7 800m² of usable space.
