Die Universität für angewandte Kunst in Wien, kurz „die Angewandte“, schrieb 2014 einen Wettbewerb zur Sanierung des Wörle-Schwanzer-Trakts und den Umbau eines gründerzeitlichen Verwaltungsbaus zu einem Universitätsgebäude mit Büros, Aula und Bibliothek aus. Die Erweiterung und Renovierung sollte vor allem Licht und Transparenz in das Gebäude bringen. Das Ergebnis ist eine moderne, offene Bibliothek mit einem lichtdurchfluteten Obergeschoss. Das Innere wird durch die Bücherregale gegliedert und die lineare Ästhetik setzt sich bis in die Arbeitsbereiche, die Leseecken und den Informationsbereich fort.
In 2014, the University of Applied Arts in Vienna, or "die Angewandte", announced a competition for the renovation of the Wörle-Schwanzer wing and the conversion of a Wilhelminian civil servant building into a university building with offices, auditorium and library. The expansion and renovation was primarily intended to bring light and transparency into the building. The result is a modern, open library with a light-flooded upper floor. The interior is structured by the bookshelves and the linear aesthetic continues into the work areas, reading corners and information area.
