Der Bibliotheksneubau am Steintor-Campus ist eine Zweigstelle der Zentralbibliothek der Martin-Luther-Universität. Der kubische Solitär besteht aus cremefarbigen Ziegeln und soll den sich darin befindlichen Büchern und deren Lesern als schützende Hülle dienen. Insgesamt befinden sich auf einer Nutzfläche von 4 600m² alle Bücher des Geistes- und Sozialwissenschaftlichen Zentrums, sowie 150 Leseplätze, zehn Einzelarbeitsplätze und drei PC-Pools mit je 30 Arbeitsplätzen. Die Baukosten betrugen etwa 14 Mio. Euro.
The new library building on the Steintor campus is a branch of the Martin Luther University's central library. The cubic solitaire is made of cream-coloured bricks and is intended to serve as a protective shell for the books inside and their readers. A total of 4 600m² of floor space houses all the books of the Humanities and Social Sciences Centre, as well as 150 reading places, ten individual workstations and three PC pools with 30 workstations each. The construction costs amounted to about 14 million euros.
