Die neue Stadtbibliothek steht im von OMA neugestalteten Stadtzentrum von Almere. Neben 11 000m² Bibliotheksfläche, auf welchen etwa 311 000 Medien untergebracht sind, beinhaltet der monolithische Bau eine große Geschäftszone, Eigentumswohnungen und ein Auditorium. Etwa 32% aller Einwohner Almeres sind Mitglieder der Bibliothek.
The new city library is located in the city centre of Almere, which was redesigned by OMA. In addition to 11 000m² of library space which houses about 311 000 media, the monolithic building includes a large commercial zone, condominiums and an auditorium. About 32% of all inhabitants of Almere have a library membership.
