Die Bibliothek "Le Studium" der Universität Straßburg ersetzt das alte Bibliotheksgebäude. Es besteht aus sieben Geschossen, auf denen sich neben der Bibliothek auch Seminarräume, Universitätsverlag, Lern- und Arbeitsräume befinden. Das offene und transparente Podium über dem öffentlichen Raum bietet einen Blick auf alle komplett in Weiß gehaltenen Etagen. Im Erdgeschoss findet man auch eine Cafeteria. In den oberen Stockwerken befinden sich die Räume mit den Magazinen der Sammlungen und die Lesesäle, die auf zwei Ebenen angeordnet sind. Die Räume des Gebäudes entsprechen auch den Erwartungen an die heutige Arbeitsweise und unterstützen sowohl formelle als auch informelle Räume: Neben den traditionellen Lesesälen modulare Räume mit leicht zu verschiebenden Möbeln sowie Räume für Gruppenarbeit, die bewusst sehr unterschiedlich ausgestattet sind.
The new leraning centre "Le Studium" of the university in Strasbourg consists of seven floors in which, in addition to the library, public gastronomic offerings and versatile learning and work spaces are gathered. The transparent podium above the public space offers a view of the ground floor, the lobby, the student services and the cafeteria. The upper floors contain the rooms with the collections' stacks and the reading rooms, which are arranged on two levels. The building's spaces also meet the expectations of today's way of working. Users need both formal and informal spaces. In addition to the traditional reading rooms, they expect modular spaces with furniture that can be moved easily, as well as spaces for group work where silence is not required.
